EDUCATION PROJECT CRH-SE5 IN COSTA RICA

This organization has a special agreement with the Ministry of Education of Costa Rica that allows placements of international volunteers and English teachers’ assistants all around the country. Volunteers contribute their time and energy working with children or adults, assisting in English classes and participating in all kinds of educational activities.

You may choose to work with children (at primary or secondary schools), teenagers, or adults.

The specific aspects of your volunteer project could vary depending on the needs of the school with which you will work, but it may include: teaching basic English, participating in or creating educational games/activities, or helping facilitate other classes (art, science, etc.), depending on your Spanish level. In most cases, creativity will be your greatest asset, as the large classes often have scarce resources.

1. Beginner-intermediate level of Spanish
2. Intermediate-advanced level of English
3. Minimum commitment of 2 weeks
4. Patience, creativity, and professionalism.
5. Motivated and capable of working with little guidance

The minimum time requested is 2 weeks, but we highly recommend a placement of at least 4 weeks.

For these projects, you need a beginner to intermediate level of Spanish. If you have little or no Spanish language skills, you need to book a Spanish language and cultural immersion program with us, which you should take during the first week of your placement. This program includes 20 hours of Spanish language classes as well as cultural immersion activities.
