Description:
This volunteer project is situated the town of Chulumani, at about 4 hours from city of La Paz, Bolivia. It is an environmental education center dedicated to biodiversity, conservation and sustainable resource management. The center offers self-guided and guided tours of a botanical garden and a biodiversity museum and also organises special events for school children to teach them about the biodiversity of the Yungas region.
Activities:
When working for this volunteer project in Bolivia you will be involved in environmental education programs in the botanical (butterfly) garden and in the biodiversity museum. You will also visit local schools for environmental education activities with teachers and students. You will also teach English to the local guides so that they are better prepared when giving tours to international visitors.
Requirements:
Volunteers working at this volunteer program in Bolivia should have the following capabilities:
- Enthusiasm

- Intermediate to advanced level of Spanish
- Experience in working with children between 4 and 15
- Team player
- Interest in biodiversity and ecology
Minimum:
Volunteers need to commit to a minimum of 4 weeks.
Work Schedule:
Most volunteers work Monday through Friday from 8 to 12 and 15 to 18 hours.
Spanish:
Volunteers should speak Spanish to a conversational level. Keep in mind that the better your Spanish skills, the more valuable and enjoyable your volunteer experience.
